Abstract/Description: | 'It was the temperate climate of Southern California that brought my family from New York to Los Angeles in 1949. My grandfather had arthritis and his doctor had suggested he move to a warmer climate. The whole family, including my mother Frances who was already married, headed out west. Fast forward to 1963 when my parents moved to Palos Verdes. It was so beautiful here. In 1966 my mother went into the real estate business working for Tarbell Realty in Malaga Cove. In 1974 she opened her own office, Yarber Realty on Tejon Place also in Malaga Cove. While running her business she decided to finish college and earned her degree from UCLA. She continued on and attended law school eventually becoming a real estate attorney. She and my sister opened up their own practice Yarber and Yarber in the Union Bank Tower in Torrance. Location: Malaga Cove Plaza.' |
